And the complication introduced by there is to identify the mobile host at first instance. The network designers use a typical model of the world which consists of WAN connected to routers and hosts. Into this Networks like WAN, LAN, MAN and wireless cell phones are also connected to each other.

How Mobile Host Routing Protocol Works?

Static users are those who never move and are connected to the network through copper wires or fiber optics. Migratory users are those who move from one fixed site to another from time to time but utilize the network only when they are physically connected to it. Roaming users are those who compute while traveling and maintain their communications as they move around. Migratory and roaming users are referred to as mobile users.

A permanent home location is assumed to be possessed by every user that never changes. Also every user has a permanent home address that can be used to determine their home to locations. An area which is divided all over the globe into geographical small units is typically a LAN or a wireless cell. Every area has one more ‘foreign agents’ which keep an eye on the mobile users entering the area. Also a ‘have agent’ is present in every area who keeps an eye on all the users whose home is in the area but visiting other areas. This is the working of mobile host routing protocol.
